Caché
plays latin music for dancers, and has established themselves as the group
for Salsa dancing in Toronto.
Caché's members combine a variety of musical skills and backgrounds
including jazz, salsa, cumbia and African rhythms. Many people refer to
salsa indifferent styles, such as Cuban, New York or Puerto Rican.
Working together, the members of Caché have
created their own style of salsa which they consider uniquely Canadian.
Fronted
by Venezuelan born singer
Juan Carlos Cárdenas,
Caché features eight of Toronto's most experienced musicians, dedicating
themselves to the vintage salsa sound of the 1970's, while looking
forward into the new millennium. As well as vocalist
Cárdenas, the Caché line-up features
Wilson Acevedo (percussion), Daniel Stone
(congas), Paul Le Roux (piano), Randy
Stirtzinger (vibraphone), Richard Morales
(bass), Patrick Brown
(trombone) and Yannick Malboeuf
(trombone).
Since their debut at Toronto's legendary Bamboo Club, Caché has
performed for sold out audiences at clubs and festivals around Toronto,
and has shared the stage with such artists as Hilario Duran and Jane
Bunnett. Caché’s first full-length CD, entitled Blended,
is scheduled for release in May, 2004.
The new
recording features all new original material from the
band. If you like the CD, come

"Fresh, upbeat salsa direct from Toronto, Canada...
very good dance club material, especially 'Sácala A

Recommended."

"Great rhythms and energetic melodies surround lead
vocalist Juan Carlos Cardenas, who is always spot on,
especially on the killer 'Sueños' and the propulsive
groove of 'Ponte En La Moda'."
