 Mambo Productions is a dance company formed in the summer of 2003 with a focus of bringing Latin dance, and more specifically, Salsa to all ages. In fact, growing the salsa scene in Alberta has been our mission from the very beginning, which sets us apart from all other dance companies. We are choreographers, instructors and entertainers and have been performing and competing in Canada as well as internationally for several years.

A few years ago Arif Maherali sat down and envisioned bringing a unique and fresh approach to teaching Salsa in Calgary. His goal was to open a dance school that would teach the fundamentals of Salsa while keeping it fun and relaxing.

Today, Latin Soul believes the most important ingredient to achieving that goal is to inspire students with positive attitudes, a friendly supportive environment and of course, the hottest Salsa in the City. Mambo Tribe Salsa Dance Company brings you their new multi-level salsa classes in Toronto. Together they have over 16 years of teaching and performing experience in the Canadian and International salsa circuit. Their salsa classes will feature timing, technique, turns & spins, cool up-to-date turn patterns shines/footwork & styling and lots of fun. 

The Toronto Salsa Practice is a relaxed, friendly gathering of salsa enthusiasts. It's an opportunity to practice stuff you're not totally confident about yet, learn some new moves, and meet other salsa dancers of all levels. It isn't a club, and it isn't a school, but it combines some of the best of both these institutions. The TSP has existed, in one form or another, since early 2001. Since early 2002 it has been a regular event. 

U of T Salsaholics Anonymous... a great place to meet new people, socialize and learn to dance! We have weekly two hour meetings open to members for free, or at a $3 drop-in cost for non-members.

Iré Omó Afro-Cuban Drum and Dance Ensemble was founded in Toronto in May 2000, under the direction of Cuban teacher dancer and choreographer Sarita Leyva.  The ensemble is dedicated to researching and developing the traditions of Afro -Cuban music through the performance and teaching of dances, music and songs of Afro-Cuban origin, such as Yoruba, Congo, Arara, Abakua, Afro Haitian and some other indigenous rhythms of Cuba, (Rumba, Bailes Campesinos, Comparsa, Pilon, Mozambique, etc.).

Dance from the Heart Studios

is a dance school founded by Miguel Gutierrez and Ana which specializes in Latin dance instruction, teaching the basics of various Latin American dance forms including Salsa, Merengue, Cha Cha, Bachata, Cumbia and Samba in our beginner Latin class.  The site also features interesting lead and follow perspectives and commentaries based on the Toronto Salsa scene.  The site also features a useful video sample of salsa basics.

Steps Dance Studio was founded by Jennifer Aucoin, salsa instructor, performer, and choreographer. 

Jennifer Aucoin is a full-time salsa instructor, performer, and choreographer. She was co-founder of Los Salsomanos Dance Company, and has recently co-founded the Bi-Annual Women's Salsa Retreat in Toronto. Jennifer is the organizer of the prestigious annual Berlin Salsa Contest.

Her skill as a salsa instructor has won her the award for Best Dance Instructor in Toronto by NOW Magazine's Readers Poll two years in a row.

This type of music with its unique rhythmic concept presents quite a challenge for the aspiring young performer.  Mr. Campos’ books titled “Salsa: Afro-Cuban Montunos for Piano” and “Salsa: Further Adventures in Afro-Cuban Music” have done a great service to the musical community by making Latin musical styles more accessible to students worldwide. In his two previous books, Mr. Campos dealt with different aspects of Afro-Cuban piano comping patterns, also called “Montunos.”
