POETRY - LOVE BIRTHED ME A CHILD

Love birthed me a child.

love

birthed me

a child to maturity

a parent to fear

a warrior of love

and a lover of my peers

love

birthed me

a child aged beyond my years

my soul transcending decades

of ancestral spirits and cleansing tears

love

birthed me

and now

i

am here

waiting for it to

rain again

love

i wish you were here

so that we could

dance again

past hours of love jones

smile again

over donuts with no holes

speak again

after midnight in soul code

make love again

like u n i did before my arms grew cold

love

birthed me

a child

in the form of a memory

and now i nurture her constantly

until u return

and bring her back to life

as our reality

love

u

are

my child

and i'll ride a taxi cab into eternity

just for

your love

your breath

your kiss

in me

*inhale*

*exhale*

mmph.

again.

Dedicated to "you"... i miss u baby. love... i miss u.

supa nintendo sega genesis

neva knew words could lead my life to end like this

pow pow

glock glock

tick tock time is endless

i am who i say i am

i be what i wanna be

do what i say i can

am who i am im me

lost my rep flyin "i believe i can fly"

no wings

in these streets

constantly callin myself a pimp a playa a thug

in these streets

losin rhythm caught and cut off my own heartbeat

in these streets

maybe i am more than just a... maybe i am "me"...

morpheus eternal

im as great as i say i am

"i know i can - i know i can

be what i wanna be - be what i wanna be

if i work hard at it - if i work hard at it it

i'll be where i wanna be..." - NaS

i say that i am the greatest creation to ever exist

a breath of Jah

i say i am the most beautiful creature to ever be seen

a human being - axis of mother nature...

i am a poem

written in words

experienced in heart

travelling through thought

i say

i am worth it

incessantly flowing upward like the nile

til yr spirit says

im that triangle on the tip of the pyramid

im that water that u need to be quenched

im that joy that can't help but be fulfilled

im your courage where being unstoppable lives

and living in fear...is killed.

POETRY - If Hip Hop Was A Woman – pt. 1

If Hip Hop Was A Woman – pt. 1
I said

If hip hop was a woman
BRUTHA”Z WOULD BE LINED UP BY THE CLUB TO DANCE WITH HER

If hip hop was a woman
Bruthaz would do that dance do that dance
Til’ that dance was choreographed by her
If hip hop was a woman
Yall niggaz would call her my Mother
Winos would sing bout how she does it like no other
She freaked my girl, my friend and my half-brother
Why hip hop got so damned pregnant she gave birth to spoken word
And that word became hip
And that hip hopped till hip hop transformed and became reborn
Claiming converts from canaan to Babylon

If hip hop was a woman
She would’ve been known as the shorty who snatched KRS-1
She’d be known as the NOTORIOUS M.A.M.A. packin 4s instead o’ TU
Shakur-in her “Entrancing Voodou” in subliminal beats that hit the streets so
hard, thugs spill forties in homage
To her…

If hip hop was a woman
I swear she’d look like lauryn hill and lil kim
If hip hop was a woman
She’d be wrappin the arms of talib, hi-tek, common, and eminem
Folk would see me walkin with her down the street
In the subways, in the park double datin w/ Jill Scott After Dark
And dancing waist t’waist breath t’breath till death cried for some love
And
Hip hop
Bein the woman that she is
Would give it some…

If hip hop was a woman
She would start a new click or regimen
Create a phat beat for the song “it’s rainin men” and have
Gentlemen, ruffnecks, reverends and Klansmen
Clappin and triple steppin’
Shoutin and reppin ethnicity, nationality, cultural and spiritual diversity
Shooot.

If hip hop was a woman
Dentists would quit their profession
Just to have one cavity
Whilst america’s mia’s would cry to be brought into captivity
Cuz
HIP HOP

Is that sweet
That captivatin
That tough
Got folk salivatin
Can’t have enuff

Man…
I calculate

That

If Hip hop was a woman

I wouldn’t be here waitin
For a soulmate

POETRY - sumthin 4 tha masses

I amputate bad habits and vomit constricting thoughts
I elevate sadness dissecting it w/ gladness on my menTalCROSS
I revitalize traditions for the sake of planting principles
I'm renovating 3Rs reading ranting and ressurecting minds and hearing instead of ending our understanding blinding flesh through heightened decibals...
I've got "sumthin4da'masses" if the masses wanna listen
I'm gonna contradict my man marvin and say being "sexual"
doesn't lead t'healing but to a continuous cycle of children raisin children...
Redemption songs of freedom are sung by those who long for consciousness...we poets...those who spit on smoked cafes over thick black mics pray for an era of blessedness...when listeners undress souls to try new beliefs, when ladies find themselves strippin apart our phrases instead of our briefs; we're longin for a day when you poet-wanna-bees think about yr purpose

cuz we are far overstaffed by circuit-clowns profilin lyrics like clowns makeup at a circus...

I've got "sumthin4da'masses" if the masses wanna listen

the trip toward empowerment begins with emotional healing
ends with good feeling thoughts of bringin hope leading to
new beginnings...

Joy and peace of mind are results of an equation that begin with
self-love and ends with forgiving... no heartache no resentment no hangups... just life....that's true living.

I've got "sumthin4da'masses" if the masses wanna listen

We've got to free our minds from our psychological prisons
gots to free our souls from our overzealous spiritual convictions
gots to free our bodies from our overbearing physical temptations
yes, if we wanna be free
we've gotta stop constantly focusing on immediate gratifications
deadend erections temporary stimulations w/o considering the ramifications

Now that I've spoken...

I've got "sumthin4da'masses" if the masses wanna listen

If u remember anything i ever say remember that in all things

U must consider the end.

---it makes life easier... circumstances change, principles remain the same... but means don't always mean achievement as much as success means how u end.

(selah)

consider the end.
