What is a Writing Workshop?

What is a Writing Workshop?
-
a forum where writers can present their works in progress for
constructive feedback from other writers or readers.
-
a forum where writers can
practice skills in constructive feedback
towards other works-in-progress.
-
a
workshop on this site means accessibility to a larger and more global audience of
not only writers but dancers, musicians and art patrons.

What
is an Online Interactive Writing Workshop?
-
Online interaction has the ease of anonymity.
You don't need to be a loud talker or charismatic to be heard in this
group. The writing's on the screen. Shyness and
self-consciousness can be minimized or just thrown out.
-
Online interaction provides a more meditative response time.
-
As
a workshop leader, I am pretty passive and try to stay neutral.
I step in if writers start to quarrel. I make sure everyone submits
their comments on time and that each piece gets a fair working. I hope
that all of us will encourage each other for an intensive working, to
not take comments or ideas with a shrug or scowl but to explore them.

Workshop Submission Guidelines
-
Workshop
leaders pick the six pieces, thus the six writers. We
will not post more than 6 pieces in a month and a half.
Every other submission, until these pieces are worked, will
have to be back-listed. Will carry the pieces over to a new
workshop if extensive revisions are agreed upon. If there is a large enough response, we will
consider running more than one workshop at a time.
-
We will work one piece per week.
-
Each participant is required to have
read and commented in this week's time, at least once.
-
Send your comments via the
Discussion
Board for the Writing Workshop. This is a
secured board. Only workshop members can enter and view
comments.

I will not divulge any contact
information of my writers or supporters without their

If
the writers agree, the finished products will be published on this
